Sustainability Workshop 2017

We are pleased to organize the first Sustainability Workshop “MANAGEMENT OF AIT CAMPUS FOREST FOR ECOSYSTEM SERVICES” to give opportunity for students to present their papers and for non-AIT students to learn how AIT students did their research. Date for this year is 16 May 2017.

Date: 16 May 2017 from 9:00 am – 12:20 pm
Venue: ROOM B202, AITCC

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) campus forest is important for all residents and students living on campus because of the forest’s ability to provide fresh air, regulate micro climate, recreational activities, and other cultural services. These ecosystem services are well recognized globally but locally such services are overlooked. This workshop is organized to provide a forum for discussions on the management of urban forest ecosystem (i.e. university campus forests) for various ecosystem services for better living environment and low-carbon society. Four talks will be delivered by NRM faculty and graduate students followed by breakout session. A breakout session is organized to brainstorm the opportunities for achieving long-term carbon neutral sustainability at AIT campus.

This 1/2 day workshop will contribute to the AIT’s sustainability action.
